OLYMPIA , Wash. -- It looked like a sure win for Evergreen as the men's soccer team outplayed the Doane College squad. In the end, Doane walked away with the win. Evergreen lost 0-1.

Out shooting the Tigers 23 - 8, the Geoducks put pressure on their opponents net the entire game. Many shots were close, but none would go in. Credit is due for the Doane keeper Kyle Fritz with eight saves for his team.

The Geoducks attacked for 60 minutes, in the so far scoreless game, before a quick play down the field by Doane caught the Evergreen defense by surprise. The confusion at the front of the goal box resulted in a burner into the middle of the goal by Doane player Jeff Wick.

Ryan Mulnick led Evergreen in shots on goal with five attempts, followed by Johnathon Willoughby with four.

Evergreen will play next at home on August 30 th at 4:00 pm against Trinity Western University .
