September 23, 2005 OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Greg Preciado and Kyle Andrews each scored their second goals of the season to lift The Evergreen State College men's soccer team to a 2-0 conference win over the visiting Albertson College 'Yotes stretching the Geoducks winning streak to five game. Preciado put Evergreen in front in the 14th minute of the match off a Nick Mancaruso feed and Andrews iced the game just before half-time as his no-angle shot slipped through the fingers of Albertson goalkeeper Shane Carmody. With the win Evergreen moves to 2-0 in conference play and 6-1 on the season while Albertson loses its sixth straight match and falls to 0-1 in the conference. Sean Oliver had the shutout in goal for Evergreen as he collected three saves on 10 shots. Johnathan Willoughby came off the bench for the Geoducks to lead the team in shots with six in the game. Evergreen continues its conference campaign at Cascade College next Thursday before returning to the confines of Evergreen's campus to play Concordia University at 3:00 p.m. |
