Kirkland, WA-The Evergreen men's soccer team kept its playoff hopes alive with a 4-2 win at Northwest College today. Nathan Ford scored his 12th goal of the season in the first minute of the game to get the Geoducks off on the right foot.

Lucas Arthur built the lead in the 11th minute as he put a Jason Gjertsen pass behind Eagles goalkeeper Russ Carder. But the two goals were not enough as the Evergreen defense, which gave up three goals to Western Baptist last game, surrendered late goals to Seth Wilson and Trevor Uhler.

Kyle Andrews and James McDonnell also scored unassisted goals for Evergreen to put the game away.

The Eagles held conference scoring leader Joe Gjertsen to an assist on the afternoon. It is the second game in a row in which Gjertsen has not scored after a run of six straight games with two or more goals.

Evergreen next hosts Albertson College on October 23 in a showdown that could determine the top spot in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Geoducks were scheduled to play Western Washington on the 21st but have moved that game to October 30th to prepare for the 'Yotes.
