Gjertsen's Keep Scoring Joe Recognized as CCC Player of the Week for Season's Second Time
September 28, 2004
Olympia, WA -- Joeseph Gjertsen was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference player of the week for the second time this season as the senior forward continues his torrid scoring pace. Gjertsen scored his third hat trick of the season--his second in two weeks--against Northwest University on Tuesday. The Tacoma native then tallied to more strikes in a losing effort at Albertson College on Saturday.
The five goals on the week bring Gjertsen's scoring total to 12 on the season. The CCC Player of the Week award is the third the Geoducks have brought home this season as Nathan Ford was honored September 20th.
The Geoducks currently sit in a tie for second place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with Albertson, though Albertson holds the tiebreaker advantage having beaten Evergreen this season. The good news for the Geoducks is that with a win over Concordia today and Albertson later in the season, the Geoducks would be back in a tie for first place in the conference with Concordia University.
