Coaches Honor Menefee with National Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2009 State Farm Coaches' NAIA All-America teams.

Selected and voted on by coaches, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America.

Nathan Menefee, NAIA Div. II's #2 scorer and First Team All-American, represents the Geoducks on the list.

The honor is given to just 10 players in the division.

Menefee averaged an ESC all-time high 24.3 points per game as Div. II's second highest scorer and helped the Geoducks advance to the National Tournament for the second time in school history. The team made it to the second round before elimination.

One of Menefee's Cascade Conference peers, Jguwon Hodges of Oregon Tech, was also a named to the All-American Team. Hodges helped his team to the second round of the NAIA Div. II Championships.

This season Evergreen's Junior guard has earned Conference Player of the Year, Two-Time CCC Player of the Week and NAIA Div. II All-American First Team honors in addition to the recent award.

Menefee has amased 1439 points so far in his two years at ESC. Three-time All-American Trelton Spencer ('97-'01) has the career record of 1740 points.
