Geoducks in the Mix With Nations Best

January 3, 2009

PORTLAND, Ore. - Despite a well-balanced team effort and 6 players scoring in double digits, ESC (#16 NAIA) fell to conference rival Warner Pacific (#12 NAIA) last night in Portland 94-83. Team set to face Northwest University at home Tuesday night.

Evergreen had a tough opponent in Warner, who's team is led by former Geoduck ('06-'07) and two-time player of the week winner this season, Adam Moore.

Nathan Menefee (Ranked #3 in NAIA Div. II shooting) was heavily guarded but had help from his team in the scoring department.

Despite Evergreen's well rounded effort, they trailed WPC in basket making. With 49% in-hoop success to Warner's 56% it was tough to make up lost ground on their opponent. The Geoducks were off on their free throws, shooting only 40%.

If those stats were telling, the three point match was even more of a giveaway to the success of the Knights team. Evergreen made just 20% of their attempts (3-15) to Warner's 54.5%.

Julio Feliciano, playing another great game, and Menefee each had 15 points to lead Geoduck Scorers.

Moore tallied 24 points for WPC to lead all scorers.

Tuesday the Geoducks host Northwest University (4th in CCC and #40 NAIA) in the Greenhouse at 7:30 PM.
