Bobcat's lead by end of first half too much for Geoducks to close

BOZEMAN, Mont. - Montana State broke an early tie with a 16-4 run that launched the Bobcats to a 92-56 win over Evergreen State on Friday.

The win marked the second time over 90 points this season for the Bobcats.

MSU's Carlos Taylor led all players with 18 points, while Bobby Howard added 13 and Divaldo Mbunga 12. James Hennessy scored a career-high 11 off the bench.

Montana State shot 50.8% from the floor, out-rebounding the Geoducks 44-to-29. The Bobcats also forced 24 Evergreen turnovers.

Nick Moore and Nate Menefee each contributed 13 points for the Geoducks and Michael Ward added an additional 11.

The win raises Montana State's record to 7-5, and clinches the team's first winning non-conference season in four years.

Evergreen falls to 7-3 on the year.

This was the second game against a NCAA Division I school this season. Evergreen lost an early season exhibition game to Boise State. Montana State currently leading the Big Sky Conference.

Evergreen returns to home and conference play January 4th & 5th when they host Cascade College and Warner Pacific respectively. It will be a double-header weekend with the women leading roundball action at 5:30 PM both nights.
