OLYMPIA , Wash. - Mountain View High School senior Jesse Norris signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at The Evergreen State College. The signing was announced today by Evergreen head coach Tom Kenna.
Norris, a 6'5" guard/forward averaged 11 points and seven rebounds per game for Mountain View , leading the Mighty Thunder to a 17-7 record and the Regional Finals.
Norris was a four year starter and two year co-captain for Mountain View and was named to the All-League second team.
"Jesse comes from a great family. He is a great kid on and off the court," said coach Kenna. "Having played for a good coachand basketball program Jesse is going to be ready to step in and make an immediateimpact. He has all the tools, dribbling, passing, shooting, postingneededto be a successful college basketball player."
Norris, the seventh player to join the Geoducks for the 2006-07 season, is the only high school senior. Five players are coming to Evergreen after two seasons at the junior college level, while the seventh player is a transfer from Seattle University.
