OLYMPIA, Wash. - Head Coach Tom Kenna announced the first new recruit signing of the year. Michael Ward, a 6'2" guard from South Puget Sound Community College has signed a letter of intent to play with the Geoducks during the 2007-'08 season.

During his two years at SPSCC, Ward averaged 18.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He earned second team All-NWAAC honors and was the 10th leading scorer in the NWAAC.

"Michael is a very versatile guard" notes Kenna. "He can attack off the bounce, he can hit the open three and can finish inside the paint. He also has the ability to rebound the basketball and lead the break."

Coach Kenna has had the opportunity to see Ward play many times and is enthusiastic about having him on the team. "We are excited to have a player of his caliber sign with us. With his leadership skills and competive nature he will flourish here at The Evergreen State College."
