OLYMPIA , Wash -The Evergreen State College men's basketball woes continue as the Geoducks were dealt their third straight double-digit loss by the visiting Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers. Maurice Thomas and Mark Carollo led the visitors with 15 and 14 points respectively, while Derek Brown added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the 57-36 Evergreen loss.
The Geoducks are in the midst of a five game skid dating back to a December 8 th win over Linfield College . With tonight's loss Evergreen falls to 1-4 in conference play.
Things were looking bright for the Geoducks at the start of league action as the Clams won their opener over Cascade College and then fell at top-ranked Southern Oregon 52-49 in the final minute of the game.
But the Geoducks have been in a free fall over the last three games getting out-scored by an average score of 71-43.
Josh Waite was the leading scorer for Evergreen with 15 points. Guard Luke Hammond added seven as Evergreen shot under 33 percent in the contest.
Evergreen face the tough task of turning things around on the road as they travel to Corban College and Concordia University next weekend before returning home to face Northwest University on January 13 th at 7:30 p.m..
