Geoducks snap six game skid

PORTLAND, OR -The Evergreen State Geoducks got back into the win column with a 50-41 triumph over Concordia University last night. The Geoduck defense held the Cavaliers to a season-low 41 point-less than half the Cav's average of 84 points per game.

The opening twenty minutes saw both teams shooting right at 30 percent as Evergreen took a 16-14 advantage at the break. The Geoducks forced 17 turnovers in the opening half.

Evergreen picked things up offensively in the second period while keeping the Cavs offense locked down. The Geoducks shot 62 percent from the floor in the second period while Concordia managed just two-for-19 from three-point range in the contest.

Pat Mattson was the only Geoduck in double figures with 18 points. Michael Lay and Alex Hartman tallied 11 each for Concordia.

Evergreen returns to campus January 13 th for a three-game home stand starting with Northwest University . Game time is 7:30 p.m.
