September 22, 2007 LACEY, WA - Uhlig finished 11th in 19:35 for Evergreen, sophomore Kelly Beckham was 15th in 20:04. Ariel Taylor (21st, 20:48), Ani Glass (32nd 22:00) and Diann Leo (33rd 22:06) rounded out the top 5 for Evergreen. The teams total combined time of 1:44:33 (20:54 Avg) may be the best on record for the Geoducks. Redshirt Ana Casillas placed 13th overall in 19:42 competing unattached. Western Oregon claimed the women's title with 35 points, Seattle Pacific second at 51, Saint Martin's third at 59, Evergreen fourth at 98 and Western Washington (B team) with 114 points. Lisa Anderberg of Seattle Pacific was the winner with a time of 18:39. John Riak of St. Martin's posted his third consecutive win this season as he covered eight kilometers in 25 minutes, 14 seconds, beating Nik Karr of Western Oregon by 30 seconds for the victory. Rakestraw had a 19 second improvement on his '06 time at this meet. Behind Rakestraw (8th, 26:49), Miguel Pineda was the next finisher for Evergreen in 13th (27:10). Eric Jones (27th, 28:30), Chris Johnson (43rd, 31:43) and Tyler Luce (44th, 32:22) composed the top 5 for Evergreen. Western Oregon won the team title with 25 points, while Seattle Pacific was second with 69. Saint Martin's claimed third with 82 points, Evergreen was fourth with 102, Western Washington (B squad) 5th with 105 and Bellevue CC in 6th with 147 points. Evergreen will have next week off before returning to competition at home October 6th in the 5th annual Pete Steilberg Open / NAIA Region I Preview meet featuring teams representing 9 college and universities.
