Diann Leo (L) and Emily Uhlig set personal best perfomances in the 5000 meters Saturday March 11 , 2008 Women's Basketball - Future Geoduck Keisha McDonald (River Ridge High School / Lacey, WA) helped her high school team to their second Washington 2A State Championship title in two years. McDonald, who will attend Evergreen in the fall of 2008, was one of the teams leading scorers in the championship game and during the season. River Ridge has two Evergreen connections on the coaching staff. River Ridge Head Coach Curtis Norwood was an assistant coach at Evergreen for three years before moving to the high school level. Former player and Evergreen graduate Dalia Gomez assists Norwood in coaching duties. Men's and Women's Track and Field - Emily Uhlig (Jr. Liberty High School / Renton, WA) won the 5000 meters in a time of 19:05.8 at the Mt. Hood Open Track and Field meet last Saturday. Ryan Lara (Fr. Franklin Pierce High School / Tacoma, WA) broke his own 400 meter school record finishing 2nd overall in a time of :51.06. Lara has changed the record books four times this season in his debut career with the Geoducks. Lindsey Farah (Jr. Yelm HS / Yelm, WA) has had her share of records this season. She finished 5th in the 400 meters in 1:01.8 to better her own record. In the team competition, the women finished 7th of 12 scoring teams while the men finished 10th of 15 scoring teams. More...
