Biographical Note
I grew up in eastern Oregon and attended Evergreen from 1989 to 1995 with time off to ski and climb throughout the western US, Europe, and the Himalaya.

How did Evergreen help you in your career?
During my second year I did an independent contract with professor Pete Sinclair. The contract was to maintain an expedition journal throughout my participation in a climbing expedition to Nanga Parbat (world's 9th highest peak). That expedition became the basis of the third chapter of my first book, Beyond the Mountain, published in 2009.
