David Dennen is currently a graduate student in ethnomusicology at the University of California, Davis. His main research topics are music in India (especially Orissa) and avant-garde/experimental performance in the US. He is currently finishing a lengthy article on composer/performer Jon Hassell and preparing for his dissertation research on Odissi music in Orissa, India.

How did Evergreen help you in your career?
Evergreen provided me with a flexible academic framework within which I could pursue my interests (and discover new ones). It helped me to make connections between areas of study often kept separate in more traditional settings. It taught me to never stop asking questions.
