Seminar Facilitators
Peter Dorman
Peter Dorman has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Massachusetts and teaches political economy, international studies and environmental studies at Evergreen. He has worked for many years as a consultant to the International Labor Organization on international development issues, and authored many articles on economic topics, as well as the book Markets and Mortality, published by Cambridge University Press. His current research centers on child labor, public health and development; he can also be found at EconoSpeak, a popular economics blog, where his posts frequently address controversies in economics and finance. His introductory textbooks on macro and microeconomics will be published next year by Springer.
Brett Redfearn '87
Brett Redfearn is J.P. Morgan Securities’ head of market structure strategy for the Americas within global equities. In this role, Brett examines how technologies, regulations and business trends are changing equities and options trading in the United States, Canada and Latin America. His responsibilities include addressing market structure implications for trading operations; developing policy positions on market issues; managing relationships with markets; and educating clients on market structure developments.
