Colorizing Evergreen: Sprucing Up Old Photos

Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Room:
TBA
Participants: 15 (Limited space and supplies)

Session Description:

Reinvented and mainstreamed by the personal computer and Photoshop, this session will reintroduce participants to the old manual techniques of touching up photographs and prints with brush and pigment. Some basic techniques will be covered within the context of the greater philosophical issues of conservation versus restoration. This will be almost entirely a practical workshop with a brief introduction to concepts and discussion of examples by the instructor. Participants will then have an opportunity to put some of these techniques to practice under the supervision of the instructors. Materials and artifacts will be provided.
