New Student Advising Workshop
This workshop is in part a student-centered Finkel-style workshop where the students are as engaged in doing as much active work as possible without the teacher/facilitator telling them everything. Since there is so much factual information we must make sure students hear, there is also a lot of "telling". Try every chance you have to engage the students, make the presentation varied, and to allow for as much active learning and engagement as possible. These methods help learning to occur more smoothly and to be retained much better.
