![]() (360) 867-6170 Doug Scrima is the Director of Admissions and "Mr. Evergreen." He has been a very active member in the Evergreen community since 1975—as student, faculty and admissions representative. Prospective students and their parents who meet with Doug find him to be genuinely enthusiastic: "It's super to be part of an effort that assists new students and parents who are going through that daunting college search process and with discovering just how great Evergreen is." Pictured here with his buddy, Tucker, Doug has many interests: Dylan, the Beatles, hiking and coaching fast-pitch softball. If you want to impress Doug ask about his vinyl collection or about Washington trails to hike.
![]() Randy Corradine "I'm interested in helping first generation high school students get into college," says Randy. He learned about Evergreen from his mentor and visited the campus a couple of times, meeting with First Peoples Advising Services, before submitting his application. Randy knows first-hand the challenges first generation college students face and realizes that a helping hand and reassurance can go a long way toward having a successful educational experience. He is also very dedicated to his sisters and brother-remaining involved in their lives so that they will succeed in school and college, too. Hitting the gym and the basketball court are personal pursuits that Randy enjoys. He's shown here with a few of his favorite books-American literature and western philosophy. After he graduated from Evergreen in 2004, Randy was one of fifty students of color who were invited to attend a seminar at Rutgers University. The week-long seminar focused on minority students in doctoral programs in philosophy. ![]()
Jessie Fries-Kraemer Jessie Fries-Kraemer decided to travel and teach elementary school after graduating from Evergreen. As an Admissions Counselor, Jessie traveled throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania and Oregon, speaking with prospective students. "I truly believe that Evergreen affords students the opportunity to go as far as they are willing and challenges students to make connections across disciplines in a meaningful, practical way." Jessie has an infectious laugh, reflective nature and adventuresome spirit. She spends her down time watching movies or listening to RSS feedsThis American Life, Radio Lab, Story Corps and The Moth are favorites. She recently read Bone People (Keri Hulme) and Elijah of Buxton (Christopher Paul Curtis). And, Jessie uses snail mail to stay in touch with family, friends and her former elementary school pupils.

Dana Gilbert Dana Gilbert grew up in the "Apple Capital of the World" Wenatchee, Washington-and was in the Apple Blossom Royalty Top 10 in 2005. "I learned about Evergreen through my really cool aunts, Rebecca and Janet, who just happen to be Evergreen alumna, too." She is a 2008 Evergreen graduate and studied literature and education. "I'm proud to be a Geoduck." When Dana is not traveling to Arizona, California, Colorado or Illinois to speak with prospective students, she enjoys hiking, reading and listening to good tunes. And, yes, she loves Disney characters. She worked at Disney World and portrayed some of her favorite characters. ![]() Julian Genette Julian Genette is a 2008 Evergreen graduate and spent a year working as an intern in Admissions. Asked to describe his Evergreen experiences, Julian says, "It's been inspiring. I would choose Evergreen again if I were a high school senior." He shares his enthusiasm with prospective students and family members during the Evergreen Information Sessions. He also responds to email questions sent to Admissions. Geoduck basketball captures Julian's attention"Go Geoducks!" The painting by his brother shows the many paths Julian has traveled and possible future directions. ![]() Abby Kelso Abby counsels adult students about Evergreen's Evening and Weekend Studies programs and courses. She is really passionate about her outreach to south Puget Sound residents"Take advantage of this amazing opportunity to study at a nationally recognized liberal arts college located right here in our backyard." Born and raised in Olympia, Abby Kelso is a 2001 Evergreen alumna who studied physics and Latin American studies. Along with administrative duties, she taught math and physics at a small boarding school in Ojai, California. Abby returned to Olympia in 2008 with husband Clay and son, Cassius. The Kelso-Morton household is active: cooking up local/organic produce, bike riding and home improvement projects top the list. ![]() (360) 867-6495 Clarisse came to Evergreen in 1990 as a freshman from Hawaii and graduated in 1994. She's a "pure Greener." She coordinates student of color recruitment as well as recruiting in Hawaii and Texas. "I love talking about Evergreen because of the faculty, staff and lifelong friendships I have made here." In addition to admissions counseling, Clarisse coordinates admissions events. "We have a great time at our events, I hope to see you at one!" During her free time she enjoys retail therapy and traveling around the world. "My passport still has room!

Jessica Mobbs Born and raised in the Olympia-area, Jessica enjoys everything about life in the Pacific Northwest. She has a wide variety of interests: playing coed slow-pitch softball, wakeboarding, knitting, watching sports and going to live concerts"the Bumbershoot music and arts festival in Seattle was awesome!" Relaxing with friends and family also rate high on her favorites list. ![]()
Max Rene Max is a 2008 Evergreen alumnus, originally from Los Angeles, California. He studied American and French history, as well as black/white photography and the French language. His interest in photography took off after he learned how to develop his film in an evening class. When asked about his Evergreen experience he responds, "I was in control of my education. I explored all of my favorite subjects and learned to love them even more." Shown here with his tennis racquet, he's been playing tennis since he was in high school and is always ready to hit the court...rain or shine! ![]()
Jerad Sorber Jerad traveled from his hometown in Gold Beach, Oregon to Pennsylvania and is now back in the Pacific Northwest. Jerad is still on the road providing advice to community college transfer students. He’s found his calling in helping students succeed. "I can change the world by helping one person at a time." He is an avid outdoorsman and looks for an opportunity to go salmon or trout fishing. When he’s not in travel mode, Jerad enjoys cooking"I make a very good cheesecake"and taking care of his Maine coon cats, Bran and Cerridwyn (Gaelic).
![]() (360) 867-6256 Sally has come full circle: born in Bellingham, Washington, raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsinshe is thrilled to be back in the Pacific Northwest and working at Evergreen! Sally looks forward to meeting prospective students: "As an admission 'road warrior' I get to promote the most life-changing and rewarding experience there is...a quality education." Catch Sally on her trips throughout Washington state and in the Midwest . Sally considers herself to be a stellar tour guide and interpreter. As a four time Student Conservation Association (SCA) intern she's led tours of colonial battle fields, historic hiking trails, mountain lakes and a lighthouse. She enjoys playing disc golf, running, hiking, doodling, and interior decorating. Sally is fond of sheep and other such barn animals and aspires to operate her own hobby farm.
