The value of the tuition waiver is based on your grade point average and may equal an 8 to 12 percent tuition reduction for Washington residents or an 11 to 32 percent reduction for nonresidents. Financial Aid and Scholarships
During the 2011-12 academic year, 66% of Evergreen students received some form of financial aid. The average award was $13,306.
You and your family are also responsible for making Evergreen affordable. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (or FAFSA) is the critical piece in the financial aid equation. The FAFSA is an application that you need to complete annually. State and federal financial aid awards include educational loans, grants and work-study. The FAFSA is available on the Web on January 1. Evergreen's deadline to receive FAFSA results from the federal processor is March 1. Go to Evergreen's Financial Aid website for more information.
Scholarships and tuition awards are another way for you to afford your education. Evergreen offers a variety of scholarships every year to new and continuing students. The value of some awards are equal to resident tuition. Some awards are based upon academic fields of study: the arts, computer studies, environmental studies, laboratory sciences and writing, for example. You should acquaint yourself with the scholarship application process and be prepared to submit your applications by the February 1 deadline.
