Amnesty International

Amnesty International at The Evergreen State College is an extension of Amnesty International USA, and is part of Amnesty International Puget Sound (AIPS). We aim to bring international, national, regional, and local human rights issues to the forefront of our community by working within the context of Amnesty International’s mission. Our group’s work will include outreach, education and action.

Bike Shop

The Evergreen Bike Shop is a resource for cyclists on campus and throughout the community. Our mission is to provide proper equipment, information and a reliable friendly environment to work on bikes. We support the integration of bicycles as a viable and functional form of transportation. We supply tools, parts (new/used), greases, supplies, resource materials, weekly classes and volunteers.

Black Student Union

The purpose of the Black Student Union (BSU) is to provide unity amongst those who identify with Black Peoples, while engaging the Evergreen community through cultural, educational, and entertaining activities.

Capoeira Angola

It is our mission as a campus organization to give Evergreen Students the opportunity to gain knowledge of the practice of Capoeira Angola, to incorporate the community in events and presentations, and to keep this ancient art alive and strong.  We seek to offer a place to any person interested in Capoeira Angola, and to help teach, research and spread Capoeira Angola troughout the world.

CD Project

The student CD Project is a 25-year-old TESC tradition. The project has created an annual album composed, produced, designed and released by currently enrolled Evergreen students. The CD project aims to create an environment where people with different backgrounds can work together and promote the diversities that exist on the campus.

Center for Sustainable Entrepreneurship (CSE)

Our mission is to provide a student-run resource center supporting sustainable entrepreneurship in the community. CSE supports students interested in starting their own business by accessing business resources, and developing the skills needed to achieve their goals.  For more information visit their website or send an email.

Chemistry Club

The Evergreen Chemistry Club’s principle functions are to foster opportunities for involvement in the community and professional activities by students of science at Evergreen, as well as to support and promote science education, especially as it relates to green chemistry practices both in the Evergreen and the broader South Sounds community.  Our goal is to become a forum for the underrepresented science community at Evergreen  In order to help students develop professional connections, the club will take measures to maintain active membership as a Student Affiliate Chapter of the American Chemical Society.  Finally, the club will play an important role in the social facet of the student body, engendering a sense of community among the science students at Evergreen.  For more information send an email or visit the Chemistry Club website.  

Circus Resurgence

The Evergreen Circus Resurgence is a deliberately inclusive student group devoted to the practice of circus arts. We're an open environment that welcomes performers of all skill levels to play, practice, teach, and learn at our weekly open sessions. We provide the equipment, encouragement and environment for everyone from seasoned professionals to absolute beginners to feel comfortable trying out new circus skills and honing their craft.

Clean Energy Committee

Clean Energy Committee strives to promote clean energy technology by providing financial support for green energy projects that benefit the college, the local community, and the global environment.  Through this measure and also by helping to fund larger projects that address energy efficiency, carbon emissions, and climate change, the Clean Energy Committee seeks to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and align itself The Evergreen State College’s goals of carbon neutrality and overall sustainability.  For more information send and email or visit the Clean Energy website.

Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (CISPES)

We are a grassroots organization dedicated to supporting the Salvadoran people’s struggle for self determination and social and economic justice. The alternative based upon democratic and socialist ideals is an example to all people who seek a world free of domination and exploitation.

We work to achieve 3 basic goals:
1) to end US economic, political, and military intervention in El Salvador and all of the Americas
2) to give political and material support to the grassroots movement in El Salvador
3) to help build a broad-based progressive US social movement and an international movement for economic and social justice.

Cooper Point Journal

The Cooper Point Journal is Evergreen's student newspaper. You can find a new edition on newsstands every Thursday. The Journal welcomes contributions from all readers. Every week it publishes campus news, features, editorials, reviews, comics, photographs and other nonfiction content contributed by Evergreen students. The deadline for contributions is 3pm every Monday. Content can be sent to cpj@evergreen.edu or dropped by the Journal's office in CAB 316. If you would like to join the Cooper Point Journal student group, the best first step is to stop by the office during an organization meeting, 5pm every Monday. Dance Matrix Collective

The Dance Matrix Collective is a student club dedicated to exploring and experimenting with a broad range of dance styles.  We will provide an inclusive, fun and casual yet challenging environment in which students will gain exposure to any and all dance styles forms. At our meetings, students will use each other as resources and teachers to experiment with dance and develop material for possible performances. The Collective will also host or attend workshops, events and performances by professional dancers and instructors to deepen our understanding of dance. The Collective will also maintain a list of local dance studios and contact information for students who are seeking training or wish to continue in a particular style. If you have a type of dance you'd like to teach or are interested in dance, this club is for you! Any student is welcome. No dance experience required. Come experience the joy of dance!

Developing Ecological Agriculture Practices (DEAP)

Developing Ecological Awareness Practices is a collaborative organization intended to serve a community interested in permaculture and ecological agriculture. We design, develop, and maintain many of these principles within Demeter’s Garden, a permaculture demonstration at the Center for Ecological Learning and Living.
