Essay Content Winners for 2011-12
During Spring quarter 2012, the College began this effort with a Writing Contest in which all enrolled students could participate. Students were asked to reflect on how the decisions they’ve made at Evergreen enabled them to gain a liberal arts education. Using funds generously provided by the Gates Foundation, the College offered monetary prizes to the top three winners. More than 100 students submitted essays. These three were selected as winners by a faculty panel:
- 1st Prize: Nathan Schuur (PDF)
- 2nd Prize: Leah Swearingen (PDF)
- 3rd Prize: Farzana Musazay (PDF)
