Our
first stop on the tour was atop a hill where we could look out over the land
fill. As you can see, it wasn't quite the massive heap of trash that we were
expecting. This is because they are required to cover their tracks at the
end of each day. |

In the top photo you can vaguely see the the dump trucks unloading. These same trucks will travel the mile or so from the Colombia River and the railroad tracks, back and forth all day long. On the right side of the photo you can see faint lines running down the hillside which are the pipes carrying the methane gas collected from the waste. | ||||
