The Washington Coast

The Olympic Peninsula is a very unique place and for many students, very different from their homes in the land locked Midwest, apartments in the big city, or the dry desert. Beach 4 was our second stop during the fall field trip. The students, having been given a list of things to look for, break up into small groups or venture out on their own.

Some students focus on the geological formations, while others find their interests lie more in the surrounding vegetation, or wildlife. Those who seek solitude are sprinkled along the beach, buried in their journals, or simply taking in the wonders of nature surrounding them.
